Hargeisa – (QN24) – The Somaliland National Displacement And Refugee Agency Has Deployed A Team To Conduct A Comprehensive Assessment On The Current Status Of Refugees And Internally Displaced People (IDPs). The Team Will Contain 97 Members Who Are Entrusted With The Responsibility Of Conducting The Assessment Nationwide. The Authorities Said.

During His Address, Abdikareem Ahmed (Hinif), Chairman Of the National Displacement And Refugee Agency, Urged The Team To Carry Out Their Duties In Accordance With The Government’s Provided Training. He Emphasized The Need For This Year’s Assessment To Surpass Previous Years In Terms Of Effectiveness And Efficiency.

This initiative represents the third phase of similar assessments conducted by the agency. The primary objective of the project is to facilitate the Provision of Assistance and Support To IDPs, as well as to devise Policies, Plans, and Projects In Collaboration With Governmental Institutions and Other Relevant Agencies.

The Ultimate goal is to address the needs of Internal Displaced People, Refugees, Returnees, And Migrants, ensuring their well-being and promoting their integration within Society.

Previously, NDRA stated that 154,230 People were displaced from LasAnod Town due to the Fighting that Erupted on 6 February 2023. The Newly Displaced People are in more than 70 Locations in Sool, Togdher and Sanag Regions. No returns have been reported So Far.
